In 2017, we feel couples took their weddings to new heights. There were so many “Wow!” wedding moments last year. Whether couples included a surprise live music or dance act, a song written by the groom for his new bride, or they involved their dog in each aspect of their special day, couples are getting more and more creative each wedding season. And we LOVE creativity at Goodwin Manor. With 2018 here and in full swing, we’re taking time to consider seven popular wedding trends we saw in 2017 and some we expect to see throughout 2018 for our happy couples at Goodwin Manor in Little Rock, Arkansas.
1) Bigger than life florals. Some things never change: couples love flowers. And, as a venue, we do too! It doesn’t get more exciting or beautiful than a unique, custom-made floral installation at your wedding. Guests are often excited to see the way the couple translates their relationship into a statement piece or detail fitting their personality.

2) Elegance is in. As WeddingWire so eloquently puts it, one trend we’ve noticed couples embracing is formality. Couples are being inspired by clean looks and colors for florals, classic tuxedos, and guests that aren’t afraid to get all gussied up. Though couples are getting in touch with their formal side, they aren’t losing the “fun.” They’re going for a more elegant look and feel without the “stuffy” atmosphere. As one of Arkansas’ top wedding venues, Goodwin Manor perfectly embodies romance and luxury with ease. That’s one thing our couples say they love about our space!
3) Edible favors. Traditionally, couples have given guests favors ranging from bubbles to koozies and everything in between. But one thing we often heard couples struggle with is finding a favor guests will actually appreciate. Now, couples are giving their guests a favor they’ll truly enjoy - food! From warm donuts at the end of the night to late-night food trucks, couples are giving out delicious favors that their guests can eat right then, instead of something they’ll take home and throw away. You can’t go wrong with something yummy to top the night off and it’ll definitely have your guests talking for months to come!
4) Small is In!!! Our social network is huge. But our dear friend base and family base is much smaller. A popular trend we are hearing about is the Boutique Wedding experience. Gone are the large guests size where brides and grooms feel they don’t get the chance to visit with everyone. Treat your guests to a smaller, intimate experience. Almost a local, getaway wedding. A Boutique Wedding. Goodwin Manor is the perfect destination!
From over-the-top floral installations to more low-key food options, we love these wedding trends we’ve seen from couples over the past year. We hope to see many of our Goodwin Manor couples continue trends like these and bring in new trends that make their wedding 100% their own!
